Bowling Alley Countertop

This is a section of Countertop in my new kitchen.  Well, my wife's new kitchen but I do get a drawer.

We bought a bowling alley lane.  For real.  I finished the sides with African Mahogany.

New tooth in 18k gold

I didn't make this one!
A friend of mine did though.
In dental school they teach students the same basic skills to be a jeweler.  Same materials, tools, processes.

Adrian Pearsall Chairs

Here are a couple of vintage chair projects.

Adrian Pearsall Chair.  Freshly reupholstered!  This one is Circa 1968.  We live in a 1964 house so this style fits.  Plus I love it.

It has a 'craft associates' tag and the original walnut frame is in good shape.

The fabric is vintage. And this photo shows the vibrant colors.

Someone had redone it in maybe the early 80's.

no good.... I think.  These were the craigslist photos. I think i paid like $135.  But, then the fabric and labor so maybe $700 into it.

Adrian Pearsall for Craft Assoc. Lounge Chair and Ottoman.  This one is a 1964.

This is the original fabric and I liked it, but the foam was all crunchy.  So we ordered Knoll fabric in red which is an appropriate material for the period.
This is me playing around in photoshop to see what it would look like in the Knoll red.

I briefly considered a cowhide.  Es no bueno.

I paid $195, and drove 3 hours to get it.  Then fabric and labor.  So I figure about $900 into the finished red version.

Here is another work in progress.....

Never Gets Old - "F" in art

Some friends or associates of mine painted a new mural on the local youth center.

I think they did a great job!

But while they were up there on the ladders they also adjusted the reader-board.

seriously, they did a great job!

Gallery One stuff

The Gallery One is a local nonprofit Visual Arts Center that has been in Ellensburg for 50 years.

I'm a resident artist (although I think of myself as a craftsman) and I have been the Treasurer for about 8 years now.

This is a picture of some of the Umqua Bank staff as they presented us with a large donation.  Is was a large amount of money and a large check.  It wouldn't fit in the night deposit slot.
