Ellensburg Blue Pendant - Sterling

The stone is about 20 carats of very high quality Ellensburg Blue.  It is a faceted emerald shape.

Setting to hold the stone and still show the facets.  I don't much like prong settings.

Clean and simple design.  I like this shape, slightly wider at the bottom than the top.

Window on the back.
This picture shows the color of the stone accurately.

Ahhh....

The picture below shows two pendants at the point right before setting the stones.  There is a certain amount of pressure and violence in moving the metal to hold the stones.  The tape is to minimize any scuffs or dents in the rest of the piece.

Also, don't forget to goof off.  ;)

Ellensburg Blue Pendant - Sterling #2

The setting is slightly asymetrical.  The stone is more of a blue/purple from the Ellensburg Agate field.
You can see slight pinks as well.

Sort of a brushed finish, to keep the soft feel of the shapes.

Jodi's Sterling Earrings

These are a pair of earrings that my wife Jodi made!
She entered them into the Gallery One members' show.

I like making funny faces with my work.

So does Jodi!

The Gallery One is cool place.

Copper and Sterling Pendant

This one is just me goofing off.
I was teaching a basic soldering class at Gallery One and this was part of my Demo.

All of the colors are cupric oxides and products of combustion.  There is nothing here that was not left by the basic soldering process.  The whole piece was plunged into cold water while hot.  That is it.  It ends up fairly random.

I told my wife that it represents my burning love for her.

Mid-Century Style Sterling Pendant with Oregon Sunstone

Oxidized sterling, fine silver, and Oregon Sunstone.

It looks like the shapes I saw growing up.
The colors will continue to change over time.
Jeweling on the back.  Just a brush on the flex-shaft in a pattern.
It makes for an interesting effect.

Tissot Seastar Visodate 1970s - Automatic

Here is a watch from my collection.

This one is a Tissot from the late 1970s.  The dial has a great patina and I am trying to decide if I should polish the case or not.
Probably not. It seems disrespectful.  Most of these require some tinkering and oil.  It is pretty rewarding to get something this complicated moving again.  This one keeps excellent time.

EDOX Silverhorn - Automatic

Here is a watch from my collection.

This one is an EDOX Silverhorn from the early 1970s.  The dial has 18k gold markers.  The dial has a wonderful gradiated color and is nearly mint.  This one keeps excellent time.

This is not a particularly valuable watch, but I think it is the most beautiful watch I own.  Just a very simple elegant design.

These watches are all worn.  I think that is the point of a watch!

Zenith 'Sporto' - 28800 HiBeat

Here is a watch from my collection.

This one is a Zenith Sporto from the late 1970s.  The case is gold plated and I am looking for a Stainless one to swap the dial and movement to.  At this point in watch history Movado owned Zenith and there are cases that were issued as Movado or 'Allegro' that are 100% spec perfect.  This one keeps excellent time.

The plating has worn off on the ends of the lugs, it is 40 years old.  This is the 28800 hi-beat movement.  ETA2562
